Donkey Kong Country

The mother of all video games, Donkey Kong Country hits the Game Boy Advance platform (1-2 player) and continues to impress us! Updated from the classic Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), it's the classic game plus more! Think new and improved and awesome!!

Two new multi-player mini-games really help rock this game to new levels!

In case you need a wrap-up of what Donkey Kong is all about, here it is! It all takes place on the infamous Kong Island, just outside of Donkey Kong's treehouse.The banana cave has been robbed! Donkey Kong has lost his bananas, literally!

It's up to you to help Donkey Kong and his side-kick, Diddy Kong, show us the bananas! We're talking THOUSANDS of bananas! You'll be seeing bananas in your sleep after playing this game for hours!

You get to come along and help on this adventure. Meet DK's pals like Cranky Kong, Candy Kong and Funky Kong as you search the jungle while battling crazy Kremlings! Don't run into the game's baddies--they include King K. Rool, Klump, Rock Kroc, Kritter, Krusha and Klap Trap.

The many moves of the king of swing, Mr. DK himself, include running, barrel roll/cartwheel attack, throw barrels, tag team, swing, jump, hand slap, and swim! Be on the lookout for barrels of fun, so to speak. Think of these barrels as secret weapons. They include: wooden barrels, vine barrels, steel kegs, TNT barrels, buddy barrels, continue barrels, barrel cannons, bonus barrel, warp barrels, stop & go barrels, on & off barrels, fishing barrels, and dance barrels.

A new DK Attack mode helps you keep track of your points while playing through this wacky, multi-level game. The clock is on as you race through the levels before the mighty one-minute timer goes off!

After all, Donkey Kong won't rest until he's hunted down the Kremlings and has every banana accounted for.

Strategy? You betcha! Kids put on their thinking-caps and use their critical thinking skills as they scour the island in search of bananas. It's enough to drive you bananas (pardon the pun)!

Two wonderful mini-games, Funky's Fishing and Candy's Dance Studio are most excellent multi-player games and add value to this already great game. To play against a friend, you can connect two Game Boy Advance units with a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable (sold separately).

You can play from over 5 worlds and at least 30 levels. Ride on rhinos or perch on ostriches to get to certain parts of the game. They're very helpful critters. You can jump into an animal crate and get some help. Really! Characters you're sure to meet include Winky the Frog, Enguarde the Swordfish, Rambi the Rhino, Squawks the Parrot and Expreso the Ostrich.

Perform a fun game trick and you might earn a picture for your scrapbook. You can also collect animal tokens and play bonus levels and win extra lives!

Although this game can get frustrating, we're giving Donkey Kong Country for Game Boy Advance two bananas up (equivalent of two thumbs up!!) for replayability and MORE fun than a barrel of.....bananas!
