If you've played LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge on your PC, you may be disappointed with the graphics quality in the GameBoy version.
Obviously, you can't beat the 3D graphics you'll find on the PC version due to the very-limited colors GameBoy Color offers. Look forward to a new version on GameBoy Advance for a wider range of colors and 3D graphics! However, if you're in a bind and you're looking for an adventure game to keep the kids busy this summer for hours on the old GameBoy Color, LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge will do just fine. Same well-written, well-developed theme: Play Pepper, the pizza dude, and motor around the island in a scooter flinging pizzas and preventing Brickster from destroying the whole place. Problem-solving puzzles require critical thinking skills and a lot of patience when playing this game. Don't be surprised if you don't beat this game easily. It's challenging and can be mind boggling, at times! Something to keep in mind: you can only save one game at ANY time. Once you start a new game, you'll overwrite previously saved games. Reading skills come in handy because you've got to pay attention to the speech bubbles which appear on the screen. For longer speech sequences, you just keep hitting the "A" button for more text. Collecting items to solve this game is as easy as walking over it--Pepper automatically grabs stuff. An added feature is the Trading Card Collection. This isn't essential to the game but some kids find it fun to play. Collecting pictures of everyone you've met on your LEGO adventure can be challenging, as well! You're in luck---you can trade extra cards with your friends by using the Wireless Infrared communications port on your Color GameBoy. You can also collect the whole set by finding them scattered throughout the game. |
