Making robot warriors from junk isn't that easy! Before you and your child get engrossed in this book, be sure to pick one robot and make a list of the items you really don't have around your house. Then, go to the store and buy them. Otherwise, you (and your child) will likely be frustrated as you realize you lack the "regular household stuff" (junk, if you will!) or you've already recycled them last week!

Kids love this book because it helps them build a better robot by using the illustrated, step-by-step instructions. There are even two sticker pages in the middle of the book to jazz up your robots!

You can build one robot or five robots by reading this book. Designs include Doberbot, Corporal Buzz, Robodozer, Ramjet, and Hatchet. Be sure to pay attention to the Hazards section to make for a smoother project.

Adult help is recommended throughout the book. It can be mother/son project or a father/daughter project or an older sibling/kid project, or any combination you choose, as long as you read the step-by-step rules, especially when using spray paint!

You will need some basic tools like a small hacksaw, a Phillips head screwdriver, jeweler's screwdrivers, craft knives, pliers, an awl, a soldering iron, electrical tape, etc.

Clever sayings (by robots, of course) make this book especially fun to read. Although the robots aren't the most sophisticated gizmos on the planet, they can sport rotating and spiked wheels, chopping arms, teeth of steel, laser eyes, robotic saw blades, and more!

Better yet, you can use the five robot projects as a springboard to create your own unique designs. After all, you're on you're way to becoming a "Roboteer". The ultimate goal? Building the best Robot Warrior ever! You'll even find a list of favorite web sites on robot construction and a glossary, in case you (or your kids) don't know what a Phillips screwdriver is! We'll take the wicked Robodozer and play it for all the marbles! A recommended read by The Review Zone.com!
