The No-Nothings and their Baby |

This incredible picture book is one HUGE giggle! Take a young couple aptly named The No-Nothings, and what do you get? A couple of "very, very dumb" people who did one thing clever in their lives. You see, they had a baby named Betty. And that's where the fun and games begins! Kids who love being read to and kids who can read enjoy this book so much they'll want to hear it and read it and play act it over and over again. The watercolor illustrations are excellent--insanely funny with many details that kids can spot. Just remember, Bertram Reliable Butternut No-Nothing and Doriana Hiccup Whatsername No-Nothing are two odd people! Whether it's the "Speedy Delivery" lane that Doriana chooses to delivery her baby (and she'll have fries with that!) or the diapering technique used on Betty, kids will find nothing funnier than reading about parent incompetence. Of course, this is fiction and no one got hurt while writing this book, but there's a happy ending awaiting you and your kids when you read this book....over and over again. After all, Betty thankfully turns out to be the smartest No-Nothing ever born. What a relief for us all! At times, we parents may feel like a a couple of No-Nothings, but raising children IS a learning experience. Kids just love laughing at these characters---just like children, you never know what these characters will be up to next! Definitely worth reading! |
