| This book is so nasty I felt like washing my hands after I read it! But, nasty in a
good way! Wait, keep on reading this review and let me explain! Particularly appealing to
boys ages 7 to 10, this is a hilarious satirical picture book, all based on a sassy story
about three nasty gnarlies who meet a stuck-up butterfly.
Is beauty in the eye of the beholder? These stinky little gnarlies get an attitude
adjustment as they opt to become butterflies. However, they soon discover that looks ain't
everything. These dump-dwelling creatures do some semi-serious soul searching as they
realize that grubby is not necessarily a bad thing.
Chuckle along with this book, especially the "operetta" by Funguso
Smellagrossi entitled "We're the Nasty Gnarlies". There's even a bonus recipe on
the back of the book. Don't let your kids make this recipe without grownup supervision.
That is, unless you don't mind smeared chunky peanut butter, chocolate chips, chocolate
pudding, and gummy worms all over your kitchen.
Two thumbs up for a cleverly satirical slap (I mean, book) for kids ages 7 to 10! And,
I meant that in a good way, too. |
